Oct. 24, From Mark Hunter '72:
"My brother, Al, who has attended many homecomings and was seeing this undergrad group for the first time, couldn't recall a more organized or articulate group of undergrads...I also agree: they represented themselves as true "Green ones". I was personally very impressed with all of them.
We have all arrived at the conclusion that we have been deficient in the past in showing the undergrads how to be Phi Eta's. I know Dick has said that many times. We forget that the culture was handed down to us very carefully without the hassles these kids have had to endure. I think the Alumni showed them a lot this weekend...including the singing of our dear Phi Eta songs...I think they were impressed! Hopefully, we can continue to help them thru the mentoring endeavor.
Special thanks need to go to Guy, Peter, John and Terry who orchestrated this to a "T"...the music and lighting made the ambience special....nice job guys! My wife had a wonderful time. (that says a lot about the event...when the spouses have a good time at a "good ole boy" reunion)."

Tue Oct 25, 2005 Post subject: Thank you for Great Weekend
from John Prentiss '77:
"To all who played a role in making this year's Homecoming such a resounding success... a heartfelt thank you to all of you. My wife Barby & I enjoyed ourselves, and we are looking forward to renewing more old friendships and seeing even more Brothers at the Centennial Gala next year.
I know how much sweat and blood went into planning for and working at the House, both before, during, and after the weekend festivities, so to all Alumni, active Brothers and significant others who made it all happen, GREAT JOB AND THANK YOU!" In Brotherhood, "Prent"
Thu Nov 03, 2005 from Jim "Skid" Rowe '74:
''Homecoming '05 was among the best I've seen. Maybe not the biggest, but one of the best, nevertheless. I say that because it was so great just feeling the energy in the recolonization effort. From the very active alums of the 60s to the newest Brothers, I sensed a real understanding of the gravity of Phi Eta's situation and a willingness and desire to join together to make it work. I was very impressed with the live-ins. Collectively, they may well be the most literate bunch we've ever had. Maybe it had something to do with the lack of alcohol before house meeting, or maybe they're just bright guys. Either way, we as Alums should spend whatever time and resources it takes to show them we care. Let's all rally for next summer's 100th!"
